text.compare

Compare two images

Drop two images to compare them four ways: side by side, with a slider you drag across, as an overlay with adjustable opacity, or as a difference map that marks every changed pixel in magenta and tells you what share of the image changed.

It is useful for checking screenshots, design revisions and visual regressions. Images are opened in your browser and never uploaded.

How to compare images

  1. Drop the original image on the left and the new one on the right.
  2. Choose Side by side, Slider, Overlay or Difference.
  3. Read the share of changed pixels in the bar above the images.

Questions

Which formats work?

PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, BMP, SVG and ICO, or anything else your browser can display.

What if the images are different sizes?

They are lined up at the top-left corner, and the size difference is shown above the images.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

Not to compare it. The comparison runs entirely in your browser. Text and files are not uploaded. There are no ads, accounts or analytics. History is off by default. You can opt in to local history or manually save comparisons in your browser; do not save sensitive secrets.
